Hi! I’m Payton Hutchins, a Media & Journalism and English double major at UNC: Chapel Hill! I have a love for filmmaking, especially horror, so I decided to work on at horror set for a UNC student film. This website is dedicated to the short and the film’s director, Chris Cooper.
I have always had a passion for film and creation. Being able to work on a project like this has taught me so much about the process of film making, and has inspired me greatly for the future. Working on this film has shown me problem-solving, more about film audio, and operating cameras and lights professionally.
Coming from the small town of Lexington, NC, the lively town of Chapel Hill has been so welcoming to me, and has given me a wide range of opportunities. Through UNC I have been able to explore my passions of art, creativity and community.
I also love writing! I am currently pursuing a degree for Media & Journalism, specializing in advertising and PR. I have always been interested in the advertising aspect of celebrities, films, and really anything in the public eye. I am also working towards an English degree with a concentration in poetry. Poetry has always been special to me, and I find it deeply personal and a true way to pure artistic expression. I love attending UNC sports games, going out with friends and trying new shops and restaurants in my town. I love hiking and exploring and have a goal to travel the world. Not all those who wander are lost!
